#1. Range exhaustion

A most common concern amongst EV prospects is mileage. It is believed that EVs have shorter mileage than fuel-run cars.

Well, even the most economic models of EV offer as low as 150 miles in one charge to as much as 335 miles per charge by top models of Tesla. Furthermore, DC charging has made it possible for EV owners to travel intercity while fully recharging their EV in less than 30 minutes at any DC station.

#2. EV would need overnight charging to charge fully


EV chargers are of two types: AC (Alternating Current) and DC (Direct Current). AC is the most commonly used charging in residential, commercials, charging stations, and booths. The obvious reason is the cost. The slowest AC chargers take up to 9 hours to charge fully.

Electric vehicles may bear 25% to 30% more acquisition cost but utility cost is way cheaper than fuels. Normally, charging an EV costs between Rs. 1.2 and Rs. 1.4 per kilometre. Normal petrol or diesel-powered automobile would set you back between Rs. 8 and Rs. 9 per kilometre. The difference is huge when you accumulate costs over a month or a year.

#4. EV is not safe

It is objected that gasoline-powered cars are more dangerous since their fuel is combustible. Batteries, on the other hand, are managed by a management system (BMS), which can turn off the battery immediately in critical situations.

#5. Expensive to maintain

Electric car batteries can last up to 10 years. As the EV automobile market moves towards incorporating high performing batteries, this life span may extend up to 20 years.
